5 Fun (and Easy!) Parties to Host this Halloween

Halloween is the perfect opportunity to entertain! Whether you want to have a family-friendly get-together or a glam cocktail party, it’s easy to be the GHOSTESS with the MOSTESS!

Here are five fun (and simple!) ways to host a “spooktacular” party this October.

Pumpkin Carving Party

Nothing says Halloween like “BYOP”! This is a great concept for a family party (and, better yet, requires almost zero work to host.) Just ask your guests to bring their own pumpkin and carving tools, plus an appetizer or dessert to share.

Or gear the party toward teens with scary movies and spooky DIY face paint.

Give out silly awards for the best pumpkins and get ready for lots of ooey gooey fun!

Couples Costume

Host a fun dress-up party with your “boo”.  For this one, picking a great theme is a key (like “famous TV couples” or “couples from every decade”).  I love the idea of a “high school couples” party, where you dress as your actual selves from senior year (after all, what’s scarier than 90’s hair?!).

Make a playlist of all your favorite high school tunes and ask guests to bring yearbook pics for décor. Just be sure everyone makes it home before curfew!

Neighborhood Pet Parade

This is a fun, hassle-free way to start a tradition with your neighbors!

“Ghouls” Night In

“Trick or treat” yo’self (and your gal pals) to a fun night in! For a casual night, host a grown-up slumber party. Invite your guests to come in their PJ’s for snacks and scary movies. Add in campy, throwback fun (like a Ouija board or Magic 8 ball) and giggle about your crushes all night long.

Or, go glam and invite your girls to dress “spooky chic” for a “fab-boo-lous” night in. (Keep it playful with a contest for the best Halloween themed cocktail!) Either way, the evening is all about friends and fun!

Kids “at Home” Trick or Treat

This is one of my personal favorites and perfect for young children! Get kiddos ready for the big night by hosting an indoor trick or treat party.

Then let the kiddos come by and “trick or treat” through the home. It is a fun, scare-free way to introduce little ones to the idea and works well rain or shine!

Consider adding a craft: provide paper bags, stickers, and markers so little guests decorate their own trick or treat bags before the party begins.  It’s so easy and so much fun for everyone!
