Frisco Neighborhood Guide: Phillips Creek Ranch

Phillips Creek Ranch is an award-winning master-planned community in West Frisco constructed on the former site of the B.F. Phillips Ranch incorporating 957 acres of diverse land.

Location

Situated east of FM 423 and stretching north and south of Stonebrook Pkwy, the community’s location is perfect to access the Dallas North Tollway, FM 423 and State Hwy 121 for commuting.

History

The community is named after the world-famous Phillips Ranch established in 1936 when B.F. Phillips Sr bought the land on the east side of FM423 to run the family cattle business. At one time it grew to over 1,800 acres. In the late 1940s the youngest of three sons, B.F. Phillips Jr., took over the ranch and decided to take it in a new direction raising ‘quarter’ racing horses.

Today the Vista Park Welcome and Information Center sits on the Community’s highest hill boasting panoramic views of Frisco, also the site of the famous family ranch house known back then as ‘The Big House’.

Over the years this house played host to many national and international politicians, Hollywood and sports stars, media personalities, and numerous fundraisers. B.F. Phillips died in 1987 and the family eventually sold the land in the late 1990s.

What do the residents say?

“We immediately fell in love with Phillips Creek Ranch when we first started to look at neighborhoods back in 2016. It’s so well planned out and although a relatively large development, it’s divided into subdivisions which give it the smaller community vibe. The amenities here are amazing with a junior Olympic lap pool by the gym as well as a beach entry resort-style pool with kid splash area on the other side of the ranch. The pools are supervised by lifeguards during the summer months bringing peace of mind to us parents. The views around the main amenity center provide the perfect backdrop for events throughout the year. One of the selling points to us was the vast amounts of trails around PCR, perfect for lazy strolls with kids or biking when feeling more energetic. The HOA fees here include front and side yard maintenance of all the homes ensuring everywhere looks pristine throughout the year. We’re in PCR over two years and love everything about our home.” – Thomas Boland-Krouse

“We were one of the first 10 homes in PCR, and even when we bought our house in June 2013, we knew it was going to be a special community. We love the walking and biking trails, the parks and green spaces, and of course all the amazing community events. At the time Pearson and Reedy were still empty fields, but having two elementary aged kids, and knowing they’d be able to continue to move up through the awesome FISD schools that are now just a short walk or bike ride away, made moving to PCR an easy decision for our family.”  – Ryan K. Manchee
