If you haven’t already visited Frisco Square this month, you're missing out! Christmas in the Square (pictured above) is a must-see display that runs from Thanksgiving through the entire month of December. 175,000 lights choreographed to music run daily from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Check out the calendar for details about the other special events, like a visit with Santa, and the Skate the Square REAL outdoor ice skating rink.

Jeff Trykoski was once named The King of Christmas Lights by D Magazine and is the genius behind Frisco's annual Christmas in the Square music and lights show (mentioned above). Every year, in addition to his work in Frisco Square, he lights up his own home with thousands of bulbs and coordinates them to Christmas music. His light display is also the motivator behind a canned food drive that he organizes each year. So this week, gather up some canned goods and swing by Jeff's house to get into the real spirit of Christmas.
The Rail District, Downtown Frisco
The beautiful lights and the holiday atmosphere downtown are enough to transport visitors momentarily to the set of It’s a Wonderful Life. At the corner of 4th Street and Walnut, several historic homes have teamed up for what is a truly stunning Christmas display. One home boasts of a tiny Christmas village…about one hundred small decorative houses displayed in front of their brightly-lit home.
Continue exploring the historic streets nearby, as we've heard that many homes down there are decked out! Also, while you're downtown, take a few pictures at the beautifully-lit gazebo off Main at 4th Street.
5913 Myrtle Lane, just west of 423 off Lebanon, is another standout among Frisco residences this time of year. This home's glow is visible from nearly a half mile away at the nearest intersection, and will likely remind you of Clark Griswold's house in the movie National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation! Visitors can be seen standing around in the cul-de-sac gazing and taking pictures after dark. Be sure not to miss this beauty. TEASER: The below photo was taken in 2017. This year, they've made one significant change that you don't want to miss!
The Burkman residence has over 25,000 lights on their house! “A family activity that takes weeks to put together” they have a life-sized gingerbread house with a smoking chimney and many other fun things on display. There is a mailbox for kids to place letters for Santa, that responds to all the kids in the neighborhood with a letter and goodie bag. The home is so popular, they have their own Facebook page to publish fun happenings on the calendar!
