
One thing is certain, there's no shortage of festive holiday productions in the North Texas area. We're fortunate to have many right here in Frisco and in our neighboring cities. From holiday classics to brand new original works, we've highlighted a few of the must-see shows for you that are close to home!
Mark your calendar and set aside time for a couple of these performances. Taking in a festive show is a great way to get into the holiday spirit. Some of these events are coming up very soon with tickets selling rapidly, so act fast!

NTPA – Frisco (Frisco Youth Theatre) Presents Elf Jr., The Musical
November 30 – December 2 and December 7-December 9 at Frisco Discovery Center's Black Box Theater
This musical adaptation of the Will Farrell movie keeps all of the holiday charm and humor and adds in delightful song and dance numbers. After all, “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!”
The Nutcracker – Presented by The Frisco Ballet
Saturday, December 8, 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm at Lebanon Trail High School
The Christmas season isn't complete without The Nutcracker, right? While there are several productions of this beloved classic performed around the metroplex, this is your chance to see local talent shine with company members of The Frisco Ballet.

Christmas Wonder, Christmas Stars – A Holiday Musical
December 14 – 16 at Frisco's Discovery Center' the Black Box Theater
Featuring some of the top performers from past Theatre Frisco musicals, this holiday review will be merry entertainment for the whole family. Come to enjoy many of your holiday favorites, participate in a sing-along, and maybe even get a special visitor from the North! Only four performances, so get your tickets soon!
Every Friday and Saturday night beginning November 23 through December 22, 6:00 pm at The Star
Frisco can always count on The Star for great entertainment and the holiday season is certainly no exception. The Cowboys Christmas Spectacular takes place each week on Tostitos Championship Plaza and will feature the Dallas Cowboys Rhythm and Blue Dancers and Drumline, appearances by Santa, and of course, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Additionally, each night will feature a special guest lighting the Christmas tree.
December 14 and December 22 – 24 at Elevate Life Church
This free, family-friendly production is nothing short of spectacular! Singing, acting, dancing, music, lights and more. (Please note there will be LED’s, strobe lights, haze fog, loud noises and other special effects used during the performance.)

Richardson Symphony Orchestra Holiday Classics
Saturday, December 1, 8:00 pm at the Eismann Center in Richardson
Enjoy an evening of classic holiday music performed by the Richardson Symphony Orchestra. Acclaimed soloist, Jodi Crawford Wright will again join the RSO for this year's concert.
Sunday, December 9, 4:00 and 7:00 pm at St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Plano
A St. Andrew Christmas presents “The Art of Christmas” Concert. This year's event will feature various St. Andrew choirs and full professional orchestra. Special guests for the concert include celebrated gospel artist, Dr. Cynthia Wilson, and the award-winning Mariachi Rosas Divinas, the only all-female mariachi band in Texas.
December 7 – 9 at the North Texas Performing Arts' theatre inside the Shops at Willow Bend in Plano, and December 14 – 17 at the Courtyard Theater in Plano
Scrooge – The Musical closely follows the Charles Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol. This production is presented by the North Texas Performing Arts Repertory troupe and features a mix of professional and amateur actors, with most lead roles filled by DFW-area professionals. In its 8th year, the production is an annual NTPA tradition!
November 29 – December 2 at Plaza Arts Center in Carrollton
Presented by the talented kids of NTPA – Dallas, A Seussified Christmas Carol is a wacky, rhyming re-imagining of the Dickens' classic.
December 6 – 9 at the North Texas Performing Arts' theatre inside the Shops at Willow Bend in Plano
Featuring children from Kinder through 8th grade, this NTPA – Plano production takes the story of the Grinch all the way to Oz as the Wicked Witch of the West has stolen Christmas from Munchkinland.
Magic Treehouse Collection: A Ghost Tale for Mr. Dickens
December 13 – 16 at Fairview Youth Theatre in Fairview
The cast of this NTPA – Fairview production will bring to life book #44 of the award-winning Magic Tree House series. Jack and Annie find themselves in Victorian London in this holiday-themed story, where they learn valuable lessons through their friendship with Charles Dickens.
December 14 – 16 and 20 – 22 at the North Texas Performing Arts' theatre inside the Shops at Willow Bend in Plano
Discover the true meaning of Christmas with the Peanuts gang in NTPA – Plano's faithful adaptation of the animated classic we all love!
Grapevine Palace Theatre Christmas Concerts and Classic Movies
Beginning November 24 – December 23 at The Palace Art Center in Grapevine
The “Christmas Capital of Texas” presents four diverse Christmas programs including The Texas Tenors, Ricki Derek and his Ho, Ho, Ho Orchestra, Kraig Parker as Elvis, and Rocky Gribble with The Grapevine Opry's Christmas Show. Watch a classic Christmas movie in the historic theater as well, such as It's A Wonderful Life, Home Alone, Charlie Brown Christmas, and more.
December 6, 7:00 pm in the “Christmas Capital of Texas” – Historic Downtown Grapevine
Bring the entire family to the Parade of Lights, the largest lighted Christmas parade in North Texas. This free Grapevine tradition features more than 100 lighted floats and marching bands. Look for Santa Claus on the last float! Come early to claim your spot along Historic Main Street to watch this exciting holiday event. The theme for 2018 will be “Holiday Magic on Main.”
