On April 13, 2019, the Hilton Granite Park will be brimming with fancy hats, frilly dresses, and plenty of laughter as Frisco Women’s League hosts its 14th annual Mother Daughter Tea.
This delightful event is a favorite Frisco tradition and a wonderful way to celebrate the special women in your life. Mothers, daughters, grandmothers, aunts, and friends are all invited to share in the fun.
This year, the Frisco Women’s League invites guests to take an enchanted journey “Under the Sea”. Guests will enjoy live entertainment, a lovely lunch, and a marvelous array of mermaid-themed activities. The tea will also feature a silent auction and raffle – with a family Disney Vacation as a grand prize!
All proceeds benefit Frisco area non-profits through Frisco Women’s League Charitable Giving Fund. Don’t miss this special opportunity to make cherished memories, support a great cause, and lunch in your most fabulous hat!
The Magic is in the Details
Tea parties are one of the most timeless and beloved traditions for women and girls. We all treasure sweet memories of “having tea” with our own grandmothers, mothers, sisters, and daughters. Frisco Women’s League celebrates this tradition, bringing generations of women together for a memorable afternoon of glamour and fun!
If you haven’t attended the Tea before, you’re in for a treat. Each year, Frisco Women’s League goes all out to create a fun, magical experience. The Hilton ballroom will be transformed into an enchanted seascape that would impress even Ariel herself.
Summer Simmons, Vice President of Special Events, says, “I love seeing everyone get so excited when the doors open and they get their first look inside.” While “Under the Sea”, guests will enjoy a wonderful luncheon, complete with a signature cocktail for adults and a special drink for children. Fun, themed activities and live entertainment will add to the festive atmosphere.
This year, guests can look forward to photo booths, a candy bar, kid’s crafts, and even a special mermaid hair braiding station! And no tea party would be complete without fancy hats!
Guests are encouraged to dress up and have fun with their finery. The event will even feature a contest for guests who decorate their hats with the “Under the Sea” theme.
FWL Vice President of Communications Gje Greene-Wallace says, “It is a lot of fun to see all the amazing hats our guests create!”
The hat contest is just one of the many fun-filled traditions that make the Mother Daughter Tea an event you will want to attend year after year.
Shop Until You Drop!
If tea is the most time-honored tradition for mothers and daughters, shopping is a close second! The Mother Daughter Tea combines the best of both – and benefits a fantastic cause.
From dream vacations to kid-friendly basket items, the silent auction and raffle offers something fabulous for everyone. You can plan your next vacation, finish your Christmas shopping early, and treat yourself – all while supporting a great cause.
The most anticipated raffle item for this year’s tea is a Disney World Family Vacation (including a one night stay at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando). Other unique raffle prizes include:
- Dinner Out for a Year for a family of four (one night a week for 52 weeks!)
- A Baker’s Dozen (dessert out 13 times throughout the year)
- A Yeti cooler filled with adult beverages
The silent auction will also feature an array of over the top items including:
- A California Wine Country Getaway for Two (two plane tickets, a two night stay, a gourmet diner and a three-hour vintage train ride on the Nappy Valley Wine Train)
- Reno Nevada Package for on “THE ROW” (two night stay in luxury room at Skyline Tower, Dinner at La Strada, Show Package at Eldorado Showroom)
- Choctaw Casino and Resort Getaway for Two (one night stay in Spa Tower and Dinner at Butterfields)
- A wide variety of baskets with fun themes like date nights, family nights, crafting, mother/daughter, sporting events, gyms, cheerleading, wine baskets, liquor baskets, dental baskets, golfing and more!
Big Hats, Big Hearts
Since 2006, the annual Mother Daughter Tea has raised an incredible $300,000 for Frisco area non-profits. All proceeds from the event go to the FWL Charitable Giving Fund, a dedicated fund that distributes grants to many local beneficiaries. Frisco Fastpacs, Clothe A Child, Heritage Association of Frisco, Hope Park Frisco, Best Buddies, and the Frisco Education Foundation are just a few of the local organizations supported through the Mother Daughter Tea.
Summer Simmons notes, “It's very special that our event is able to raise money to help so many organizations in our community.” Beneath all the fancy hats and fantastical fun, the Tea is a serious contributor to our local community and an event you can be proud to attend.
The remarkable ladies of Frisco Women’s League certainly know how to throw a party – and make a difference. Amy Rudy, the organizations 2018-2019 President says,
The FWL Mother Daughter Tea has been a family tradition for years. I attend with my three daughters and my mom, who travels from Oklahoma just for the Tea. It’s such a thrill to walk in and see how the volunteers have transformed the ballroom into whatever the theme happens to be that year. We’ve seen everything from butterflies to candy to Hollywood and the Emerald City. It’s a fun-filled afternoon and we’re so honored to have played a small part over the years helping FWL raise funds for charitable organizations in our community.
Tickets are available now. Get yours today and we’ll see you “Under the Sea”.
